support our battle against cancer.

Some of you know that since early 2025, co-owner Dave (42) has been on a journey fighting stage 4 metastatic melanoma. For Dave, that looks like [BLAH]

Dave is 42. Steph turns 40 in April.

This winter has been x, y, z

  • Advancing of Dave’s disease

  • Several multi-day bouts of radiation in Duluth plus emergency spinal surgery

  • Lost his ability to walk

  • There is a treatment we are shooting for but it’s not a slam dunk.

  • Likely terminal (3+ months)

Balancing the needs of a major, advanced disease and the bills that accrue in the slow season (rephrase)

As many familiar with small family lodges know–while now thankfully possible in the state of MN–it is rarely doable for owners to take family medical leave. We have had to blah blah blah to get through the season and now blah blah.

We are needing to raise $X to cover expenses that have accrued over the winter while we juggled the needs of the lodge and the needs of a terminally-ill owner.

And if you’re in Grand Marais this summer, please consider stopping by - we’d love to pour you a pint and thank you for being a part of our community near and far.
