BORDERLAND LODGE IS NOW HIRING FOR THE 2024 Season (may-October).

Borderland Lodge is a small, family-owned resort on the historic Gunflint Trail, about 50 miles from the town of Grand Marais, MN. Our resort sits less than a mile from the Canadian Border and offers quick entry to the million and a half acres of the pristine Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW).

While small, our lodge prides itself on providing a warm, welcoming, and personalized experience for the guests who choose to stay (and often return) to our lodge.

Summer / Fall 2025

All-Around “Lodge Services” (Full-Time with Lodging Available)

We’re a small team and we all do it all here – from cabin cleaning and front desk to groundskeeping and dining. While we all roll up our sleeves for turnover days and dinner service, we do work to build out a schedule and task list that allows for each of our strengths to shine through (guests can tell when we’re humming at our best!). 

responsibilities include…

• Housekeeping (5 cabins & 3 lodge rooms + communal main lodge space)

• grounds maintenance, boat and watercraft care

• Food service – breakfast & weekly dinner service

• Customer service – responding to guest needs & requests in a friendly and timely fashion

THe ideal candidate…

• upholds our high standards of cleanliness and customer service

• is flexible and adaptable

• Is a people person

• is interested in exploring the outdoors and learning about the area – whether that is hiking, fishing, canoeing, etc

• Is reliable and can positively represent the lodge within our small community

Pay & Benefits

Hourly pay negotiable and rate starting at $17.50.

private bedroom in a shared cabin. $200/month rent and utilities.

complimentary family meals (breakfast or dinner) when working dining shifts

use of boats and equipment when available.
