pre-order special borderland merch and help

support our battle against cancer

IN early 2025, Borderland lodge co-owner Dave catlette (42) RESUMED HIS FIGHT AGAINST MELANOMa – experiencing aggressive tumors across many bones, organs, and the brain.

in the time since, Dave has undergone ALMOST TEN rounds OF RADIATION as well as emergency spinal surgery following a tumor that has left him paraplegic.

after a series of setbacks made it clear that immunotherapy and targeted chemotherapy were no longer effective, dave was referred to mayo clinic for next steps. in march he was hospitalized in rochester for three weeks receiving palliative care and testing for new treatment therapies.

Anyone who has gone through–or even just witnessed–an advanced disease understands the upsettingly endless amount of money and resources needed just to keep pace. while we have been buoyed through these ups and downs thanks to the support of our friends, family, and incredible neighbors, the financial strains have been significant.

borderland lodge is launching a special run of merch this spring. Purchases will help offset the expenses accrued from juggling the operations of our small family lodge with the extensive needs of a co-owner enduring late-stage cancer.

please check out the shop below – everything is available as a pre-order. cut off is monday, april 13. expect about 8 weeks for production and printing, with anticipated shipping by the end of june.

check out dave’s caringbridge and go fund me pages to learn more about his recent cancer journey.

And, if you’re in Grand Marais this summer, please consider stopping by the lodge. we’d love to pour you a pint and thank you for being a part of our community near and far ❤️
